Barne Barton is in the west corner of Plymouth and has a commanding position over the River Tamar. This urban area has a varied population, with a large amount of young families at its nucleus.

The area is one of three neighbourhoods which have been selected for substantial regeneration, with a new primary school and considerable funding coming to the area. Three new housing estates have been built in the area. These houses have been made available to rent by a local housing association, private part buy part rent and full private sale.

A youth worker from Plymouth City Council has been funded to work in the area. Several activities have been set up for the young people. These activities can be viewed in the "Meetings and Events" section of the website.

The neighbourhood team is made up of PCSO's John Aked, Katherine Hickling and Lloyd Wright. The Neigbourhood Beat Manager is PC Martin Bellamy. The team is supervised by PS Scott Taylor and work from Devonport Police Station, Fore Street, Devonport.

Barne Barton’s main problems are anti-social behaviour, drug use, criminal damage and theft. However, the neighbourhood team works hard to tackle these issues robustly by adopting a proactive policing style and giving feedback to community leaders and residents through the Have Your Say Meetings.

Anti-social behaviour and crime continues to decrease. However if you are a victim or witness a crime or anti-social behaviour please do contact us on 999 or 101 (101 if a non-emergency).

The most recent Barne Barton Have Your Say Meeting took place on Thursday 8th December 2016 at The Tamarview Resource Centre. The Policing Team along with the Neighbourhood Regeneration Team from Plymouth City Council now have two priorities to work on throughout the following months.

Please contact us by using this website, the non emergency number (101) or by stopping one of the team in the street. If there is anything we can do to assist you in improving your quality of life through reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, we are happy to help you.

Barne Barton also has a Neighbourhpood Watch Facebook page. Search "Barne Barton Neighbourhood Watch".
