From May 2013, the following changes were made to the crime categories:
I) The violent crime category was renamed "violence and sexual offences"
2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

Neighbourhood Team

Bedhampton and Barncroft is Policed by a neighbourhood police team consisting of one police sergeant, four police officers and four police community support officers.



The team cover both wards and primarily work around preventing crime which is done through crime prediction and trend analysis, regular community mapping including current crime analysis and also by community engagement. We currently have regular drop in opportunities which we call ''copsncoffee'' at Staunton Country Park and also we take part regularly in the Havant Park Run. We also are in regular contact with residents via Hants Alert and also by being active on Twitter -@HavantPolice.
The team are proactive in responding to any crimes and often support our response colleagues when the need arises.
