From May 2013, the following changes were made to the crime categories:
I) The violent crime category was renamed "violence and sexual offences"
2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

Godshill is a village and civil parish and is located between Newport and Ventnor in the southeast of the island. The name 'Godshill' is said to originate from the foundations of the local church.
Chale is a village and is located three kilometres from Niton in the south of the island. The Village of Chale lies at the foot of St. Catherine's Hill.
Wroxall is a village and civil parish in the central south of the Isle of Wight.
Niton is a village on the Isle of Wight, near Ventnor supporting two pubs, several churches, a butcher, a pharmacy and 3 local shops including a post office
Whitwell is a small village and this has led it to becoming a very close-knit community with a range of amenities including a garage, a 700 year old church, the oldest pub on the island, dating back from the 15th century and a post office, which was recently re-located to a new premises inside the church bell tower.
