    Dear all UKCrimeStats Forum followers,

We spotted an anomaly with Cheshire Police ASB events which appeared to be 10 times lower for the first 3 months available – see here http://www.ukcrimestats.com/Police_Force/Cheshire_Constabulary. This matters because added to the crime total, it means there was a 90% increase (by far the biggest increase in the country) in crime and ASB from Dec 10 to Aug 11 which obviously didn’t happen.

We have contacted Cheshire Police and to their great credit they got back immediately and agreed for which we are most grateful. They have promised to tell us when the revised csv files are uploaded to http://www.police.uk/data so that we can update our own system.

We will update you here when it is live.

We yesterday emailed the NPIA, RKH and Cheshire to alert them to the fact that this still hasn’t been updated. We will keep you posted.

Ok, finally, after a number of months effort on our behalf, this is now fixed. The corrected data was uploaded to Police.uk on Friday 22nd December with the November upload. After our own post-Christmas update, we downloaded and uploaded this data to UKCrimeStats. We have kept a record of the old file which you will see on our Problems wit the data page. We have also asked the NPIA to consider rewarding us for making the effort to get in touch with Cheshire, them and RKH and make sure it was fixed. After all, we did do their job for them and this has cost us time and money !

I am now closing out this topic.
