This weekend, I’m in this beautiful part of the world – Llandudno – and I’ve just noticed this horrific error. This neighbourhood of North Wales Police has a kml file that includes 60% of the sea – very unevenly. Clearly it’s not right.

See here on police.uk http://www.police.uk/crime/?q=Llandudno,%20Conwy,%20UK#neighbourhood/2012-01 and on UKCrimeStats (we have to use the same data as the Police so it looks the same) http://www.ukcrimestats.com/Neighbourhood/North_Wales_Police/Mostyn(West_Conwy_Coastal) .

I shall email the local neighbourhood team and alert the NPIA who are meant to keep track of these issues and see that corrections happen.

We have informed the NPIA and the Home Office of this error and look forward to their reply.

Ok, apologies for the late update on my behalf. I actually posted this up over a month ago but we lost some data when hackers took the site down. The long and short of it is that this boundary is correct after all !

The reason why is because the tide goes out a long way and the local police team patrol the beach and consider it part of the neighbourhood. Many thanks to the Home Office for getting back to us on this one. The topic will now be closed.
