2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

Mutley is a densely populated urban area home to a range of diverse communities, indeed it is one of the most densely populated areas in the whole of Devon and Cornwall.  This is in part due to the high proportion of multiple occupancy dwellings.

The heart of the Mutley area is Mutley Plain, home to a number of shops and other amenities, which runs through the middle of the neighbourhood.  Whilst during the day Mutley Plain is a busy shopping area, during the evening it is known for it's bars and pubs.

The area is very similar to the adjacent Greenbank Neighbourhood, home of Plymouth University, due to its strong student ties.  Although they are two separate Neighbourhoods, Mutley and Greenbank are policed as one and therefore benefit from a large team of officers.
