In September 2011, Other Crime was divided into 6 categories - Drugs, Public Disorder & Weapons (which was later split further and so is not displayed here), Criminal Damage & Arson (CD&A), Theft - Shoplifting, Theft-Other and Other.
From May 2013, the following changes were made to the crime categories:
I) The violent crime category was renamed "violence and sexual offences"
2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

The Ward is home to a range of different communities from rural village communities including: The Pentons
Appleshaw, Weyhill, Clanville, Redenham, Great Shoddesden, Faberstown, Penton Bellinger, Bourne ValleyThruxton, Kimpton & Fyfield to the larger and more densely populated community of Shipton Bellinger.
Charlton Ward is one of the smallest wards in Andover. It contains a Pub, a shop, Charlton Lakes and a small housing estate. It is surrounded by country side. Charlton Village is a pretty little village and , although very close to Andover, has a charm of its own. Charlton has many recreational facilities for all ages surrounding Charlton Lakes.
Penton Bellinger Ward covers 4,791 hectares in the north-west of Test Valley. The northern and western edges of the ward border Wiltshire, with Andover to the east.
The Ward of Bourne Valley covers 6,678 hectares in the north of Test Valley. Bourne Valley is a rural ward which includes the villages of Faccombe, Hurstbourne Tarrant, Hatherden, Linkenholt, Tangley and Vernham Dean.
Bourne Valley is the largest ward in the borough and is the least densely populated ward in Test Valley. The ward borders Basingstoke and Deane to the East, West Berkshire to the north and Wiltshire to the west.
