From May 2013, the following changes were made to the crime categories:
I) The violent crime category was renamed "violence and sexual offences"
2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

Camborne South has a population of about 7000. It has a mixture of urban and rural communities and covers a large area from Brea almost as far as Barripper and up beyond Troon as far as Bolenowe.

The area has two large estates in the Pengegon area and at Grenville Gardens Troon. The area of Pengegon has been designated a ‘Super output area’ which identifies it as an area of social deprivation and so receive additional funding to assist make sustainable improvements.

The Camborne South Team work with the Neighbourhood Office in Parc An Tansys in a number of ways and this includes a current project to build a new purpose built community building in the Pengegon area in which to base many different partnership agencies.

The Camborne South Team is made up of PCSOs Andy Richards and Will Bray and Neighbourhood Beat Managers PC's Geoff Streatfield and James Tompson. It's one of three Neighbourhoods in the Camborne Area supervised by the Neighbourhood Team Leader Sergeant Gavin Barnes.
