The Camborne West Neighbourhood has a population of approximately 7000 people and stretches from South Terrace, being the southerly dividing line out to North Cliffs and west to Praze, it also encompasses the villages of Barripper, Penponds and Kehelland.  As such the community resides in a mix of rural and urban locations encompassing quite an even range of social groupings.

Over 80% of children in Camborne go to one of the 6 Schools in the Camborne West Neighbourhood.

The level of crime in the area is low when compared to other parts of the country and has been continuing to reduce over recent years. However the fear of crime is often not in keeping with this trend.

The Policing team for Camborne West is made up of PCSO Shaun Harvey and Neighbourhood Beat Managers PC's Geoff Streatfield and James Tompson. The Camborne area has three distinctive neighbourhoods covered by nine team members all supervised by Sergeant Gavin Barnes, the Neighbourhood Team Leader.
