In September 2011, Other Crime was divided into 6 categories - Drugs, Public Disorder & Weapons (which was later split further and so is not displayed here), Criminal Damage & Arson (CD&A), Theft - Shoplifting, Theft-Other and Other.
From May 2013, the following changes were made to the crime categories:
I) The violent crime category was renamed "violence and sexual offences"
2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

The Illogan North Neighbourhood Beat comprises of the villages of Illogan, Portreath and Tolvaddon as well as a large rural and coastal area stretching from Cambrose to Hells Mouth at North Cliffs. The Neighbourhood Beat has a population in excess of 7000 residents.
ILLOGAN
Illogan is a large village to the north of Camborne and Redruth. The village constitutes part of the Illogan Parish which comprises of several distinct communities including Illogan Churchtown, Park Bottom, Tolvaddon and South Tehidy. Cornwall Council's Tehidy Country Park lies within the parish boundaries and its network of footpaths, trails, lakes and wooded areas attracts a large number of visitors.
PORTREATH
Portreath is a small coastal village on the North Cornwall Coast and its large beach and harbour attracts a large number of vistors, especially in the summer months. The village forms the start of the Portreath to Bissoe Mineral Tramways Cycle Path which attracts a large number of cyclists.
CRIME AND ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Crime in the Illogan North Neigbourhood Beat is low and we are motivated to reduce crime levels in Illogan, Portreath and Tolvaddon even further.
Anti social behaviour (ASB), like many other local communities, is present in Illogan, Portreath and Tolvaddon. We manage incidents of ASB robustly and positivily to ensure that local communities are not subject to this behaviour which can significantly affect peoples' quality of life.
We utilise a wide variety of proactive and reactive interventions with the assistance of partner agencies such as Cornwall Council and Social Housing Associations to ensure that Illogan, Portreath and Tolvaddon continue to be safe and enjoyable communities to work and reside in.
