3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"

The Townstal area has a population of approximately 2,500. The population in Townstal is varied, with a mix of elderly people, retired people and families with young children.

The neighbourhood that I cover also includes the rural villages of Slapton, Strete, Stoke Fleming, Blackawton, Dittisham and Cornworthy.

Slapton is renowed for its beautiful Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve and the ill-fated Exercise Tiger that took place on 28th April 1944 during which, over 900 American servicemen lost their lives. There area around Slapton boasts stunning natural beauty, peace and tranquility.

In Townstal there are a number of small businesses based centrally in industrial units and three schools are located on the outskirts. The area is also serviced by three supermarkets, a garage, a post office and a sports centre.

Townstal is a safe place to live with the likelihood of being a victim of crime falling well below the national average. Incidents of serious crime are very low indeed.
