The Economic Policy Centre www.economicpolicycentre.com has made every effort in order to ensure that the data for UkCrimeStats is accurate and up to date. However, we are aware of certain deficiencies in this data which are beyond our control. That's because as a 3rd party developer, we do not collect the data, the Police do who then hand it over to another data company to release to 3rd party developers such as ourselves. We only download and analyse it so that you can use it. For full detail of these deficiencies, please read here.
Tavistock is a thriving Stannary Town situated on the South west boundary of Dartmoor National Park. It has a population of around 13,000 and consists of a bustling centre with a varied array of independent and high-street branded shops, a busy Pannier Market, and a good selection of Cafes, Bars and Restaurants.
The wider Town area consists of several state and private schools and colleges, housing and industrial estates as well as a variety of shops and supermarkets.
Crime in the town is well below that of the national average with the most common crimes being damage to cars and property, shoplifting and opportunist type thefts.
The local Neighbourhood Police Team consists of PC Cathy Veale and PCSO's Douglas King and Kevin Williams. You may see them regularly patrolling Tavistock town centre as they like to be visible and approachable.
There are e-mail contact details on our personal Team member pages should you wish to contact us but please feel free to stop us in the street should you need to.
Due to having no front office if you attend Tavistock Police Office to report something you will have to use the wall phone outside which will ring 101 or 999 only. If you wish to walk in to speak to someone directly Crownhill in Plymouth is the closest station with a front office.
