Chudleigh is the main town covered in this area with a population of around 3,000 and it is expanding all the time. Chudleigh has a Town Council that is active and enthusiastic. There are several villages of varying sizes along the Teign Valley and they too have their own active councils. The rest of the area is largely rural with many farms and smallholdings.

Chudleigh town sees the most crime – but this is neither excessive nor serious crime. The main problems that occur are incidents of vandalism and issues surrounding alcohol consumption.

Recent 'Have your say' consultations showed these issues to be of concern to the residents and these are issues that the Neighbourhood Team is committed to tackling.

It must be remembered that Chudleigh is a very safe place to live and these issues  are caused by a very small minority of individuals who we aim identify as quickly as possible with a view to taking steps to tackle their potentially offensive ways.
