Teignmouth Rural covers a large area geographically with the River Teign running through its middle. The area consists of the parishes of Ideford, Bishopsteignton, Shaldon, Stokeinteignhead and Combeinteignhead.

Although it is predominantely an elderly and retired community, many younger families are being attracted to the villages by the promise of a quiet and safe environment.

Each village has an active and enthusiastic community life, with the residents holding events and activities for their villages such as flower festivals, annual village shows, Christmas fairs, parades and carnivals. The area attracts many visitors especially during the summer months when the population swells dramatically.

Residents of the Teignmouth Rural neighbourhood are invited to meet the team at regularly held local surgeries which take place within each village centre. Details of these can be found at the bottom of this website.

There are also report books placed in Shaldon Newsagents, Bishopsteignton Post Office and the shop in Stokeinteignhead which can be used to report any issues you may have or to request contact from the neighbourhood team.

We welcome your comments and suggestions and are keen to respond directly to any concerns you may have about your community.

Teignmouth and the surrounding areas remain a very safe place to live, with crime levels being very low, and we will continue to work with you to ensure that it stays that way.
