I) The violent crime category was renamed "violence and sexual offences"
2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

Pinhoe is a large ward encompassing both rural and urban areas on the outskirts of Exeter. As with most parts of Exeter there is a mix of dwellings and businesses, including new developments. There are schools catering for all school ages, industrial sites and even a quarry.

For some time Have Your Say meetings have been held at local venues. These meetings provide an opportunity for local people to inform the police and other agencies about their problems and concerns. For those who cannot attend these meetings we also have regular street briefings. Issues that have come up at these meetings include antisocial behaviour, criminal damage and speeding..

The Pinhoe neighbourhood team is made up of PC Carolyn Studd and PCSO Ben Turner. We are happy to deal with any problems that arise. We are part of the Exeter East Neighbourhood Police Team which also covers Mincinglake, Whipton Barton and Heavitree and Polsloe.

I hope that when you see us you will take a couple of minutes to say hello and give us your views, good or bad, on the area and the way we are policing it. If you would like to contact us you can use the link on this page, call the police switchboard on 101 or attend one of the meetings that will be advertised on this site and in prominent locations in Pinhoe.
