Littleham has a population of approximately 5,324. It is mainly urban and is arguably Exmouth's most diverseĀ area as it includes The Avenues, Littleham estate and village, the seafront and Sandy Bay. Sandy Bay is one of the largest holiday parks in Europe and during the summer months is visited by an additional population comparable to the population of Honiton. Younger families occupy many of the new houses with older communities being more focused in the established areas of the neighbourhood. Much of the activity is centred around the Littleham estate and seafront areas. Work is being done by the police neighbourhood team and partner / voluntary agencies to improve links between the community and agencies and to regenerate the area.

Littleham is a safe place to live with the likelihood of being a victim of crime being well below the national average. In addition the incidents of serious crime are very low indeed. The main problems are spontaneous incidents of vandalism committed by those passing through the area and anti social behaviour. There are also problems with fear of crime, especially during the late evening. Some of this is created by differing views of what is acceptable causing relatively low-level behaviour being interpreted as a significant threat. The Littleham Neighbourhood Team are working to address these issues.
