Crediton Rural South comprises of the parishes of Hittisleigh, Cheriton Bishop, Crediton Hamlets, Newton St Cyres, Shobrooke, Stockleigh Pomeroy, Cheriton Fitzpaine, Poughill and Copplestone.   The A30 passes through the patch in the West, with the A377 running through a number of parishes as it winds its way to North Devon. Most of the area is involved in agriculture, whilst some of the villages house people who work each day within the nearby city of Exeter.  In recent years, some villages have grown, most noticeably Copplestone, to accommodate people wishing to move to this beautiful part of the world.
