I) The violent crime category was renamed "violence and sexual offences"
2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

That's because as a 3rd party developer, we do not collect the data, the Police do who then hand it over to another data company to release to 3rd party developers such as ourselves. The Lipson and Laira areas of Plymouth consist mainly of urban residential areas including a mix of privately owned, privately rented, council and housing association properties.

The population is diverse consisting of young families, employed couples and retired people. Much of the community activity is centred around Lipson Community College which currently has approximately 1,300 students, many from the local area.

The Local Neighbourhood Policing Team works closely with the students at the college to promote a sense of pride and value in the community.

Lipson and Laira have relatively few crime related problems. Issues highlighted at local Have Your Say Meetings have included low-level antisocial behaviour amongst teenagers and traffic-related issues.

We will continue to work with partner agencies and develop strategies to improve the quality of life for all residents in the Lipson and Laira neighbourhood.
