Greater Manchester Police still missing data since July 2019

It really doesn’t look good on GMP – the 2nd biggest force in the country – that monthly crime data has not been made available since July 2019 on www.data.police.uk. I have written in the past to Manchester’s Mayor, Andy Burnham, who referred me to his Deputy for Crime and Policing, Baroness Hughes. I’ve just written to her for a third time to see what can be done and when we can expect this data to be made available.

Anyway, what this means to users of UKCrimeStats.com is that any postcode or shape that falls either partially or in whole within the GMP area and when looking at a time period from July 2019, should not be considered a true and fair picture of what is actually happening. We do warn users when data with shapes is missing but can’t be confident that this is always understood.
