Just so you know;
We have alerted Gwent Police to a large number of neighbourhoods – see here http://www.ukcrimestats.com/Police_Force/Gwent_Police – missing population data and they have responded
immediately promising to get back to us.I should add we have found in many cases, Police Forces have – they tell us – quite correctly put the population into crimemapper (what they see and we don’t) but somehow it is not being passed through to http://www.police.uk/data where we get our data from.
It’s these small things in a huge dataset that can make a very big difference. Without population data we can’t calculate crime rates.
The spirit of this forum is all about cooperation not blame. The emphasis is about working together to make sure it is right and to be open about errors when they inevitably occur so they can be corrected quickly.
Good news – all Gwent Police neighbourhoods were completed in the latest update – September 2011 released at the end of October. Many thanks to Gwent for responding to our request and getting it sorted. I am now closing this topic.
